When you feel supported, everything shifts

Human connection and support is the key ingredient to gaining more control over Bipolar Disorder. That is the biggest insight we gained from over 200 hrs of interviews with people living with Bipolar Disorder.

So we are building a simple tool to help you express every time you feel "Not ok"  and get the right support from your tribe without judgment, friction, or needing to explain.

A clear sign of knowing when to help, shifts care

Living with bipolar is already overwhelming asking for help shouldn't be too.

We’re building a simple way for your loved one to share how they feel and get support from you on time, without pressure or guesswork.

In time caregiver support is provide better treatment

Human connection is the first line of defense for bipolar individuals against escalation of any triggers into an episode.

So we’re building a simple way for your patients to share how they feel and get timely support from their caregivers without judgment, friction, or the need to explain. And giving you a reliable insight into their mood trends and support over time.

Meet Idan Spund, the Founder of In The Zone

Idan Spund, founder of In The Zone

Idan built In The Zone from lived experience with bipolar and a long search for earlier, gentler support. After beginning and facilitating the largest English-speaking peer support group in Amsterdam, he was inspired to build a shared-care coordination tool. Idan believes that we must help people living with bipolar, their loved ones, and clinicians get on the same page sooner.

I built In The Zone because it is too hard to navigate bipolar alone, and we need to act early. Loved ones notice early changes often, but then support starts late because of hesitation. This causes a delay in care, because people feel something is off and do not know what to do or when to do it. This app is designed to make that earlier moment easier, and for care to be truly shared.

WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED FROM OUR COMMUNITY

Voices from our community

Words from 200+ hours of interviews

Here are reflections from people with bipolar and their support system. One finding stood out: timely support from a trusted circle can prevent mood escalations before they become episodes. This was true for 80% of the people we interviewed.

“Even after diagnosis and treatment, we spend 98% of our time managing this on our own.”

— Person living with bipolar, Amsterdam

“When you're depressed, your personality is wiped out. Having someone who just knows — without me having to explain — would change everything.”

— K., diagnosed post-partum — Person living with bipolar, UK

“People love hypomanic people. You're high-energy, you're fun. That's the hardest part — you need your guard to tell you what you can't see.”

— L. — Person living with bipolar 1, Germany

“It's okay to let go sometimes. It's okay to drop the ball, to lose a day.”

— Partner of a person living with bipolar, Netherlands

“The ‘high’ phases are the ones during which my father feels he lacks self-awareness the most.”

— Daughter of a parent living with bipolar 2, France

This is just the beginning.
